Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.
  • Experience working with and analyzing data.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience at a management consulting firm with a strong performance trajectory (demonstrated through exceptional impact, performance ratings, or promotions).
  • Experience working on complex operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Experience in tech, media, telecom company, or education in STEM.
  • Experience in strategy or in a business operations environment.
  • Experience with problem-solving, including modeling and presentation skills.

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

The Central Platform and Devices Strategy team sits at the center of the product area and helps drive our product and business strategy across Platforms and Devices. As a Platforms and Devices Central Strategy Lead, you will assist the team to address some of the most critical business challenges and opportunities realized since recently combining Platform and Ecosystems product area with Device and Services product area and key parts of Google AI Research. You will be a critical team member responsible for developing and executing on strategic, analytical, and operational initiatives across the product area and across Google.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $117,000-$172,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Structure complex and ambiguous business issues for the product area senior leadership team.
  • Gather and analyze large amounts of information quickly and problem solve effectively.
  • Develop compelling, insightful recommendations.
  • Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision-making within leadership audiences.
  • Work closely with product managers, leadership, and functions to operationalize recommendations.
