Senior Software Engineer, Machine Learning, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  
• 3 years of experience with performance, systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
  
• Experience in Machine Learning systems (e.g., background theory, TensorFlow, and other tools).

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  
• Experience in architecture analysis, system architecture, performance modeling, or similar.
  
• Experience in Machine Learning inference workload optimization (e.g., quantization, distillation, sharding).
• Experience with performance analysis and debugging, improving performance of single-node or multi-node distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Machine Learning (ML) Performance Inference submissions.
• Prepare and optimize reference models demonstrating inference solutions.
  
• Develop optimization automation and libraries for improving latency for ML models on cloud and make them available to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) users.
• Collaborate with the ML research, ML performance, model optimization tooling, and other optimization teams.
