Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience from specifying and implementing features on mobile or AR/VR device platforms through to integration or product launch.
- 5 years of experience in technical leadership.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with system-on-chip silicon architecture or hardware or systems design and performance or power tradeoffs for consumer products.
- Experience with system engineering, software, perception architecture, imaging, sensing, or silicon architecture.
- Experience presenting technical concepts to a multi-level and multi-disciplinary work partners both internally and externally for Engineering.
- Experience with mobile or Extended Reality (XR) software, silicon architecture development, or product architecture definition.
- Experience in systems engineering technical leadership and bringing hardware, software, sensing, and computer vision algorithm solutions together through cross-functional team collaboration

Responsibilities
- Create internal processes to ensure quality Silicon definition, planning and execution, while owning an internal silicon road map to support Google Augmented Reality (AR) Engineering.
- Propose and negotiate silicon requirements with internal cross-functional teams and external vendors that include platform software, perception architecture and algorithms, engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, and silicon vendors.
- Work with hardware and optical engineers to analyze component selection trade-offs.
- Help design teams on meeting schedules and resolving technical issues by organizing the right resources to resolve issues with data-driven decisions.
- Perform data flows, duty cycle and memory hierarchy analysis, memory management benchmarking, or latency simulations to inform solutions to achieve product intent and critical use cases.
