Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
- 1 year of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
- Experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with engineering projects with cross-functional collaboration to achieve common goals.
- Knowledge of threat modeling, risk assessments, or security assessments of systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
About the job
Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
As an Information Security Engineer, you will help to ensure that software and systems are designed and implemented to security standards. You will perform technical security assessments, code reviews and vulnerability testing to highlight risk, helping Google teams and partners to improve security, and work on a wide variety of software designs and technology stacks. You will also work with other Google Engineers to design and build proactive methods to enhance security posture. In addition, you will have the option to specialize or perform research in a number of varying fields.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical security assessments, code audits, and design reviews.
- Develop technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.
- Advocate security and secure practices throughout Google.
- Conduct research to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities in regards to Google's products and services.
