Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience assessing and developing cybersecurity solutions across multiple security domains.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience investigating, responding to, and mitigating a significant cyber event, or adversary tactics and techniques.
  • Experience with cloud products including Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience in cybersecurity business development or sales.
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance.
  • Understanding of the cyber threat landscape, including prominent nation state/criminal threat actors and cyber attacks.
  • Understanding of the geopolitical environment in which nation states and criminal cyber threat actors work.

About the job

As a Security Consultant, you will be responsible for helping clients effectively prepare for, proactively mitigate, and detect and respond to cyber security threats. Security Consultants have an understanding of computer science, operating system functionality and networking, cloud services, corporate network environments and how to apply this knowledge to cyber security threats.

As a Security Consultant, you could work on engagements including assisting clients in navigating technically complex and high-profile incidents, performing forensic analysis, threat hunting, and malware triage. You may also test client networks, applications and devices by emulating the latest techniques to help them defend against threats, and will be the technical advocate for information security requirements and provide an in-depth understanding of the information security domain. You will also articulate and present complex concepts to business stakeholders, executive leadership, and technical contributors and successfully lead complex engagements alongside cross functional teams.

As a Security Consultant in Google Public Sector, you will be responsible for designing and delivering cybersecurity solutions and outcomes for government clients in the United States and for select partner nations. You will perform proactive cybersecurity assessments and be the technical advocate for information security requirements and best practices. You will articulate and present complex concepts to business stakeholders, executive leadership, and technical teams.

In this role, you will need people management and executive communication skills and the ability to communicate technical Google value propositions to non-technical government and military audiences around the globe.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000-$193,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Conduct cybersecurity program assessments and build roadmaps to improve public sector clients’ security posture in the United States and with selected partner nation governments.
  • Deliver executive and technical cybersecurity tabletop exercises. Assess security operations and Incident Response team capabilities and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Design cybersecurity solutions for government clients including the full range of Google security capabilities.
  • Represent Google Public Sector at executive and working-level government strategy, planning, and industry events.
  • Enhance commercial partner relationships and ensure Google cybersecurity products and services are integrated into partner solutions.
