Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python).
  • 3 years of experience in a consulting role leading or supporting enterprise customers with cloud architecture development, hardening, or threat detection.
  • Experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certification in Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer (PCSE).
  • Certification in Security+, CISSP, or similar.
  • 5 years of experience advising large enterprise, telecommunications, or government customers.
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, FISMA, DoD Risk Management Framework, StateRAMP, CJIS, and similar public sector compliance standards.

As a Security Consultant, you will be a trusted advisor to public sector organizations, working closely with them to understand their unique security challenges and objectives. You will guide them through their cloud journey, ensuring their Google Cloud environment is secure, compliant, and resilient.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $118,000-$174,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers to develop and harden cloud architectures that align with Google’s best practices and meet their specific security requirements.
  • Work with customers to fortify their cloud architectures against potential threats and disruptions, ensuring continuity and reliability.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to customers during security incidents, helping them contain and mitigate threats effectively.
  • Perform security and compliance assessments of customers environments, identifying vulnerabilities, and recommending remediation strategies.
  • Partner with Google's internal Security teams and external partners to leverage their expertise and insights, ensuring a coordinated and effective approach.
