Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience leading security intelligence and risk mitigation strategies.
  • 2 years of experience analyzing, interpreting, and solutioning using data as it relates to intelligence and risk, solving problems impacting threats, vulnerabilities, or risks to the company.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience partnering with cross-functional teams and external counterparts to support business leaders, build sustainable programs, and complete global forecasting projects.
  • 5 years of experience in advanced open source research and investigations, with experience conducting security risk analysis.
  • Experience communicating to a variety of audiences and explaining analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with independently envisioning, coordinating, and scoping projects or analysis.
  • Experience leading and influencing others in an organization when you have neither the authority nor familiarity to do so.
  • Knowledge of culture, norms and operating environments of different regions, including in EMEA.

About the job

Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) Global Intelligence's mission is to inform business decisions with trusted security risk analysis to protect Alphabet's people, property, and ideas.

In this role, you will join a diverse and creative team of analysts on Enterprise Threat Assessment (ETA) who provide forward-looking assessments to a wide range of Google decision-makers and leaders across Alphabet’s product areas. You will apply your well honed judgment, security acumen, and open source research skills to support risk assessments, global investigations, executive protection, crisis management, and facility security with an emphasis on supporting EMEA priorities. You will track geopolitical events and changes in Google’s global policies and programs to assess the effect they may have on Google’s people, property and ideas. You’re a people person, and you will use established people management skills to build trust within and across teams to inform your analysis and ensure Googlers know where to turn for security risk analysis.

From keeping Googlers safe and secure to managing disruptive events, the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act are the pillars of Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team. As a member of GSRS you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resiliency are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and disseminate accurate and timely global intelligence to support action plans based on impact, credibility, and likelihood. Assess risk to Google facilities, operations, and personnel in EMEA across product areas, based on ongoing or future events.
  • Use publicly available sources to research and evaluate risk, based on potential threats or concerns to Google, people, property, and ideas focused on EMEA.
  • Help inform protocols and practices to assess and mitigate threats and potential security risks to Google and YouTube with an emphasis on EMEA.
  • Author analytic assessments about potential operational and strategic risks or concerns to Google and YouTube and disseminate to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with security counterparts to make risk-based recommendations about posture and resource allocation.
