Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 15 years of experience in business development, consulting, investment banking, P&L responsibility in the technology, devices, or digital platforms industry
- 10 years of experience in leadership and people management
- Experience building relationships with C-level executives and collaborating across all levels of management
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Experience leading global teams and working with large global partners
- Experience in sales, business development or strategy & operations with top retailers and OEMs
- Understanding of the industry's issues with a well balanced POV on future outlook
- Deep understanding of the SEA/SAF smartphone market
- Ability to work in a matrixed organization, build bridges, and rally teams across organizational lines
About the job
The Platforms & Devices (P&D) team is responsible for driving a set of prioritized business development initiatives to catalyze Android platform growth and business generation. The team forges strategic partnerships that expand the reach of Android to users across South East Asia and South Asia Frontier Markets (SEA/SAF), creating a thriving ecosystem that benefits users, partners, and Google alike. As the Regional Director for Android Partnerships in SEA/SAF, you would define the regional strategy and the partnership roadmap across a broad spectrum of partners, which include Retailers, OEMs, Carriers, and many more. Our goal is to bring the best of Google to help our partners succeed and sustainably grow our users, products, and ecosystems.
You'll drive opportunity identification, shape strategy, discuss win-win agreements, and advocate the development and execution of groundbreaking initiatives for growing Android and related platforms in SEA/SAF. You'll be seen as a trusted C-level advisor within our partner ecosystem, who is adept at navigating complex agreements and securing strategic agreements. As a true domain expert, in the devices industry, you'll skillfully align partner expectations with Google's solutions and foster cross-functional collaboration to drive mutual success for our partners and for Google. Most importantly, you'll inspire and empower a high-performing partnerships team through empathetic leadership.

Responsibilities
- Lead and empower a cross-regional team of experienced partnership managers, to foster and expand strategic relationships with key Android partners (OEMs, retailers, and carriers) across SEA/SAF. Cultivate a high-performing team culture focused on collaboration and outcomes.
- Be the primary point of contact for Android partners across SEA/SAF, nurturing executive-level relationships, identifying mutual growth opportunities, and expanding the platform's reach and impact.
- Lead complex agreement building and discussions to secure strategic partnerships that drive user growth, and deliver value for Android and partners alike.
- Serve as a knowledgeable authority on devices that are industry capable of guiding partners on possible win-win solutions, and coaching your team to develop deep expertise in the industry.
