About the job

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

As a Trust and Safety Risk Operations Analyst, you will be part of a team that changes the way Trust and Safety and Google operate. You will ensure the apps on the Play Store live up to users’ and Google’s high standards. You'll consider users' needs and develop a deep understanding of Google Play Store policies. You’ll balance quality with efficiency in an ambiguous environment. You will complete pieces of analysis to contribute to reports and presentations, gathering and processing data while noting key assumptions, with oversight from a manager. As you partner cross-functionally to create working relationships outside your team, you'll drive toward shared goals and acquire an understanding of relevant Google-wide business projects and analytical methods.

At Google we work hard to earn our users’ trust every day. Trust & Safety is Google’s team of abuse fighting and user trust experts working daily to make the internet a safer place. We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Escalate complex challenges to senior team members or managers in a timely manner and assist in addressing those challenges by supporting senior team members.
  • Collaborate globally, across and beyond Trust and Safety, to advance common goals.
  • Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the process area, including domain expertise in data sources, core methods, client base, product, issues, systems, as well as relevant Google-wide business projects, and analytical methods (e.g., extract data, build dashboards).
  • Communicate clearly and share relevant information. Identify shared or conflicting goals and find ways to increase alignment to arrive at the best collective outcome. Proactively offer to help teammates.
  • Review and manage escalations from graphic and controversial video content in line with Community Guidelines. Be exposed to graphic, controversial, or upsetting content as part of the core role.
