Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in technical troubleshooting and managing partners and customers.
  • Experience in system design and any one programming language (e.g., Java, C++, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with edge computing, distributed systems or data center transformation.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time as required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in a customer-facing role.
  • 8 years of experience in cloud infrastructure designing multi-cloud solutions.
  • 3 years of experience building solutions using AI/ML.
  • Experience partnering across business units, stakeholders, vendors and teams to achieve common goals.
  • Experience managing distributed teams globally on scaled programs.
  • Ability to communicate complex information to executive internal/external stakeholders.

You listen and deliver what is most helpful for the customer. You assist fellow sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers. You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.

As a Customer Engineer in Google Distributed Cloud, you will work with the sales and pre-sales teams to offer and deliver complex distributed cloud solutions. You will be leading conversation on cloud offers and drive decisions to align with Google Cloud services and delivery team innovation and capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute on new cloud offers, business case and alignment from respective teams, address budget needs and executive buy in securing customers, drive customers to prove offers, and scale offers to field once proven successful.
  • Be a technical advisor and point of contact for strategic customers and accounts with non-standard requests and innovation needs.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with executive cross-functional key stakeholders in customer or partner organizations to deliver or manage quality technical solutions and services.
  • Strategize surrounding solution code development in collaboration with internal or external developers, users, partners, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Lead scalability of existing solutions or create repeatable solutions (e.g., best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code) and ensure effective documentation of repeatable solutions. Influence major product decisions based on developer feedback or technical expertise.
