About the job
Google's brand is only as strong as our users' trust and their steadfast belief that our guiding principles are what's best for them and that we uphold them effectively. Our Trust and Safety (T&S) team has the critical responsibility of protecting Google's users by ensuring online safety by fighting abuse and fraud across Google products. In this role, you will be part of a team that changes the way T&S and Google operate. You'll ensure the apps on the Google Play Store live up to users’ and Google’s high standards. You'll consider the user's perspective and develop a deep understanding of Google Play Store policies. In addition, you will execute tasks within the scope of a project, complete pieces of analysis to contribute to reports and presentations, gather and process data while noting key assumptions, with oversight from a manager. You will lead well-defined projects to resolve complicated abuse- and harm-fighting and mitigation problems using existing systems and processes to maintain operation. As you partner cross-functionally to create working relationships outside your team, you'll drive toward shared goals, and start to acquire an understanding of relevant Google-wide business projects and analytical methods. You'll also engage in community contributions to improve and sustain our culture and operations - making Google a better place to work.
At Google we work hard to earn our users’ trust every day. Trust & Safety is Google’s team of abuse fighting and user trust experts working daily to make the internet a safer place. We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.
Responsibilities
- Lead well-defined projects to resolve complicated abuse- and harm-fighting and mitigation problems, and build trusted user experiences, with iterative improvements to systems and processes.
- Advocate for ideas or state a position despite dissent, and try new approaches while learning from mistakes.
- Work in a team setting by sharing knowledge when relevant to tasks, and coordinate with others when contributing to a larger work stream to ensure that projects are aligned.
- Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the process area, including domain expertise in data sources, core methods, client base, product, issues, systems, as well as relevant Google-wide business projects, and analytical methods (e.g., extract data, build dashboards).
- Provide Googler feedback analysis, operational monitoring, and error resolution to prevent inaccuracies, reduce process latency, and develop standard scripts and solutions with guidance.
