Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Finance, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in multi-disciplined procurement, leading activities such as sourcing strategy development, RFx processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations within Marketing Services related categories.
  • 5 years of experience supporting category strategy and sourcing within Marketing Services teams (e.g., events, media, sponsorships, co-marketing), or related areas.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally and with contract drafting, review, and management within Marketing Services related categories, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and managing key performance indicators and metrics to measure category performance and track progress towards strategic goals.
  • Proficiency analyzing procurement data, generating reports, and providing insights to support decision-making, and performance evaluation within the category.
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology and analytical tools to enhance category management practices and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to lead strategic projects or initiatives aimed at improving procurement processes, implementing new strategies, or driving innovation within the category.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation within procurement activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance category management practices.

Within the Google Procurement Organization, the Category Management team partners closely with key stakeholders to help shape and implement procurement strategies. The Category team is responsible for developing and driving holistic category strategies, managing stakeholder relationships, and bringing excellence to Google-wide sourcing, supplier, and contract management.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of category strategies aligned with organizational objectives for assigned indirect spend categories.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality service delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Support execution of sourcing strategies, RFx processes, discussions, and supplier evaluations within designated categories.
  • Analyze spending patterns, market trends, and identify value opportunities within the category.
  • Analyze procurement data, generate reports, and provide insights to support decision-making and performance evaluation within the category.
