About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Our goal is to build a Google that looks like the world around us — and we want Googlers to stay and grow when they join us. As part of our efforts to build a Google for everyone, we build diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and we aim to cultivate a sense of belonging throughout the company.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will help build foundational quality capabilities that enable us to create head entity, categorical, and answers search experiences that are tailored to world context and are rich end user experiences. You will build signals that reflect a contextual and fresh understanding of the world, and work with various partner teams to integrate these into Search ranking. Additionally, you will mine and create diverse and modern content that lets us deliver rich and compelling end product experiences for entity/categorical/answers queries. The Brazil team is brand new and our investments in the content quality space, so you will get to participate in plenty of ideation and planning.

In Google Search, we're reimagining what it means to search for information – any way and anywhere. To do that, we need to solve complex engineering challenges and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on. In joining the Search team, you'll have an opportunity to make an impact on billions of people globally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage selected projects within the Quality and Answers space, including project planning, managing schedules, setting milestones and project tracking.
  • Use leadership and technical judgment to drive project delivery, working closely with engineering and product management. Have a deep understanding of platform engineering in order to uncover and build new operational improvements and processes.
  • Build solid relationships and act as the bridge to infrastructure and other feature development teams across the organization. Lead overall communication within the team and outside to stakeholders and leads.
  • Navigate multiple, interdependent work streams, technical concepts, and conversations across different areas and stakeholders to drive collaboration and consensus.
  • Communicate with and influence external partners on delivering integration requirements.
