Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in Java or Kotlin languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
- 8 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in developing infrastructure or making contributions to a code base.
- Experience working with Spring Boot.
- Passion for API design and for building infrastructure.

Our team works on the infrastructure for building Java and Kotlin services that seamlessly integrate with Google's unique infrastructure. This infrastructure is used by thousands of Google developers to build products serving billions of users worldwide.
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage this growing team driving technical excellence and empowering Google to build amazing products.
Responsibilities
- Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
- Design, implement, extend, and support the infrastructure for building services using Kotlin and Java.
- Collaborate with teammates across the organization to deliver infrastructure improvements.
- Triage system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on service operations and quality.
