Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • 5 years of experience in people management, with technical leadership.
  • 3 years of experience with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning.
  • 3 years of experience building and shipping products in Developer Tools and Ecosystems space.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a technology or business related field.
  • Experience with software development products (e.g., IDEs, build systems, automated testing).
  • Experience in Research or publications in AI/ML.
  • Experience in Generative AI.
  • Ability to drive alignment across different teams on company-level initiatives.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

Developer AI is focused on transforming software development across Google through generative AI. DevAI as an umbrella covers innovations at the model and platform level as well AI skills that underpin key surfaces that deliver agentic and generative experiences.

As the PM Lead, for DevAI Core, you’ll work with AI researchers, engineers, Data Science, and UX to address the use cases across the Google software development life-cycle using LLMs. You’ll define and guide our strategy to deliver the best results for internal use cases like code generation, testing, bug fixing, and data analytics.

This role requires specialization in the AI and software development ecosystem, engaging in efforts such as benchmarking and eval strategy, model quality, data governance, and R&D of future big bets.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of product managers.
  • Lead a team through defining, identifying, collecting, and tracking appropriate product or business metrics.
  • Lose collaboration with Research and DeepMind, using the latest generative AI architectures to train LLMs.
  • Define and own the product strategy for how Google applies AI to the software development life-cycle, including code authoring, refactoring, code review, testing, debugging, and verification.
  • Own the product strategy for how Google ensures quality, safety and security for internal LLMs through evaluation data, training, prompting and benchmarking.
