Who You'll Work With

You will be based in one of our North American offices and will join our Sustainability practice. You will be a part of a growing team of McKinsey experts who are advising clients on carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects.
In April 2021, we announced the launch of McKinsey Sustainability, our new client-service platform with the goal of helping all industry sectors transform to get to net zero by 2050 and to cut carbon emissions by half by 2030. McKinsey Sustainability seeks to be the preeminent impact partner and advisor for our clients, from the board room to the engine room, on sustainability, climate, energy transition, and environmental, social and governance (ESG). We are committed to invest behind this goal over the next four years—through our client service, knowledge and capability building, acquisitions and alliances as well as pro-bono investments.

What You'll Do

You will play a key role in the decarbonization of global organizations, including those in the oil and gas industry, coal-fired power plants, ethanol plants, and ammonia facilities.
In this role you will advise organizations on how to develop and go to market with innovative solutions or business models that enable other organizations to decarbonize their operations.
As an expert focused on carbon capture, utilization, and storage, you will conduct due diligence, regulatory guidance, and cost analysis for clients. You will often focus on transportation and pipeline, and downhole sequestration. You will work with clients to develop and implement action plans, provide support, and meet clients’ expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
Lastly, you will play a key role in helping us to grow both our sustainability practice and our reputation as leaders in the market, so we can continue to fulfill our mission to help all industries get to net zero by 2050 and cut carbon emissions in half by 2030.
