You will be based in our Shanghai, Beijing or Shenzhen office as part of our Greater China Organization practice in McKinsey.

These approaches help clients answer critical questions related to cost reduction, efficiency and effectiveness streamlining, merger plans, divestments and carve-outs, and talent deployment.

What You'll Do

You’ll lead the Org portion of a client engagement where you will facilitate sustainable and large-scale organizational change at clients. 
In this role, you will apply a broad range of creative problem-solving skills, combining technical and analytical excellence to help solve your piece of the overall client puzzle. You'll synthesize conclusions into recommendations and work directly with senior client leaders to implement change. You'll be responsible for driving the development and execution of client work related to our service lines. As part of your role, you will implement new, innovative market strategies in the region and work jointly with global and regional leaders to identify, syndicate and implement new initiatives for individual clients.
You'll collaborate with leaders to set the overall aspirations for the region as well as shape and execute initiatives that drive implementation. You'll partner with targeted leaders and consultants in the region (e.g., Organization practice leaders, service line and hub leaders as well as office managers and client service teams) to jointly develop a go-to-market plan for relevant regional hubs including identification of new market opportunities. 
You will also be an inspiring people leader who will apprentice and mentor colleagues. You will contribute to and build knowledge that enables us to be at the forefront of Org topics.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic HR consulting
  • Strong subject matter expertise in at least one of our service lines
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels
  • Top-tier problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excitement for entrepreneurial, fast-paced culture
  • Ability to take ownership and prioritize multiple deliverables under tight timeframes
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Fluency in English and Chinese
  • Flexibility to travel
