Who You'll Work With

You will work in our Seoul office as part of McKinsey's Travel, Logistics and Infrastructure practice (TLI), collaborating with global experts and local practitioners to serve clients. 
Our TLI practice develops and implements solutions for clients across all industry subsectors. Our mission is to optimize the flow of people, goods and associated services around the world. The focus areas of the practice include: travel (e.g., aviation, hospitality, passenger rail, etc.), logistics (e.g., post, parcel, express, logistics-3PL, freight forwarding, trucking, distributors, shipping, freight rail, etc.) and infrastructure (e.g., airport, port, rail infrastructure, etc.). We also heavily invest in developing state-of-the-art knowledge to drive our clients’ success.

What You'll Do

You will utilize your expertise to provide leadership and direction to our existing client service teams as well as top managers at client organizations.
You will be an important source of intellectual insight on client projects, framing business problems in a way that the team can then execute to drive impact and client value. Specifically, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new client opportunities to advise companies on transformational change and capability building, leading confirmed engagements on day-to-day problem solving, team management, and client management. You will bring in deep functional knowledge, expertise, and proprietary tools to every client situation, managing and developing strategic client relationships while always ensuring the highest quality of client work. 
Within the firm, you will play the role of an entrepreneur, reinventing McKinsey TLI service lines and opening up new opportunities for client impact. You will be a mentor and an advisor to developing consultants, and as a member of McKinsey’s global TLI network, you will be responsible for integrating insights from internal and external specialists as well as developing world-class knowledge. 

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree, preferably an MBA or master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Associate principal/partner level (or equivalent title) experience at a tier-one consulting firm in travel, logistics and infrastructure related sectors 
  • 8+ years of work experience in travel, logistics and infrastructure consulting after graduating, with a distinctive record of professional achievement and impact 
  • Proven track record of developing new client relationships and generating business development opportunities that led to successful client engagements 
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams; team-orientation and collaborative approach to a global working environment; outstanding listening skills and the ability to manage through influence 
  • Knowledge of / defined involvement in helping frame, design and execute solutions for challenging business situations 
  • Proven thought leadership in your industry space including production, syndication/publication of marketable knowledge 
  • Exceptional intellectual and analytical curiosity; a creative visionary who can manage innovation 
  • Seasoned leader or director with a sophisticated executive demeanor, comfortable functioning at the highest level of client organizations, with the ability to to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Strong entrepreneurial drive, thrives on intellectual challenge, and raises the bar in terms of client service delivery 
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing – in English and Korean
