Who You'll Work With
You’ll join our Amsterdam office as part of McKinsey’s People & Organizational Performance (POP) practice. This practice is a trusted adviser to the world’s leading businesses, governments and institutions on their most important organizational opportunities and challenges.
You’ll typically work on projects across all industries and functions and will be fully integrated with the rest of our global firm. You will be part of our global network and partnering with over 800 POP consultants and experts who are helping our clients across a broad range of topics including power performance transformation, shape organizations to compete, transform talent into competitive advantage, elevate leadership to transform.

What You'll Do
You will typically work in teams of 3 – 5 consultants and will be engaged in every aspect of the client project. Working hand-in-hand with clients from all major industries (e.g. consumer goods, financial services, telecommunication, pharmaceutics, global energy & materials, AI, etc.). You will gather and process information, formulate and test hypotheses, and develop recommendations for presentation to client management. With this, you will shape organizations of the future, by making change happen at the intersection of strategic, organizational and digital topic. You will be having impact by guiding how an organization aligns itself, executes with excellence, renews itself and builds a healthy culture to sustainably deliver on its performance aspirations.
As an associate, you will have the opportunity to build on your previous experience and as well as explore People & Organizational Performance topics that are new to you. You will receive exceptional training and frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues on your teams. This support will include a partner from your local office assigned to you to help guide your career, as well as formal training. Additionally, you’ll receive initial guidance and support from your local office or practice in the selection of client projects, helping you to develop your skills and build your network.
Qualifications
- Master's degree, preferably in business management, organizational psychology or a related field; advanced degree or MBA is a plus
- 3+ years of post-university people and strategy-related work experience
- Functional expertise in the human capital space; must be up to date on market trends and the overall competitive landscape
- Combination of strong strategic and analytical abilities
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to untangle complex issues; demonstrates logical reasoning and creative thinking
- Fluency in English is a must; fluency in Dutch is preferred
