Product Development Tech Lead
Who You'll Work With
You will be based in one of our European offices as part of our R&D Engineering Service Line within the Product Development and Procurement Practice. This new service line brings together the best of McKinsey’s technical capabilities to help our clients leverage digital technology to turbocharge the pace of their engineering R&D. Your work will focus on the most challenging R&D questions, such as helping to reduce the sound propagation of helicopters, accelerating the development of new drugs, and boosting the performance of a sailing team to win America’s Cup.
As part of this group, you will join a team combining passionate experts from engineering (aeronautical, mechanical, and similar disciplines), software development, and advanced analytics to develop and push the boundaries of AI-based computer-aided engineering. You will typically work on projects across industries and functions and will be fully integrated with the rest of our global firm. You will also collaborate with colleagues from across McKinsey & Company to help our clients deliver breakthrough products, experiences, and businesses.
When you join McKinsey, you are joining a firm whose culture is distinctive and inclusive. We will accelerate your development as a leader to create positive, enduring change in the world.
What You'll Do
You will work collaboratively in small agile and cross-functional teams and iteratively deliver at-scale AI-driven engineering transformations.
You will be the technical lead on the ground to frame, discretize, prioritize, and resolve complex technical issues while developing your team’s capabilities. You will be in charge of projects’ overall architecture consistency and scalability and will identify key risks and mitigations from a technical standpoint. As such, you are responsible for the performance and quality of the technical solutions delivered to our clients.
You will be part of a team responsible for delivering best-in-class enterprise-grade solutions on a breadth of different platforms and technologies. You will combine the latest deep learning technologies with traditional physics simulation solutions. Your deliverables will mostly be lines of code but will also occasionally include more conceptual reports.
You will be a core member of a service line combining the best talents. Your responsibilities will range from codifying knowledge on the latest engineering breakthroughs to ensuring that we stay on the leading edge of R&D. You are a flexible and adaptive tech lead who effectively communicates across a broad range of stakeholder groups from engineers to business users and effectively leads a project workstream.
Your application should be in English and include a CV.
