Who You'll Work With

You’ll be working in one of our offices in North America within our Growth, Marketing & Sales Practice. You’ll work on cutting-edge efforts to help lead companies accelerate growth by enhancing their CRM and digital capabilities. You will join McKinsey’s Growth Tech practice and work closely with Salesforce.com technologies. You’ll work alongside Salesforce design and delivery colleagues from S4G, a leading platinum Salesforce consulting partner, which McKinsey acquired in 2022.
McKinsey’s Growth, Marketing & Sales Practice helps clients in consumer and business-to-business environments on a wide variety of growth topics, including branding, customer lifecycle management, marketing ROI, eCommerce, pricing and margin optimization, and sales and channel management. Our practice brings experts in business consulting, data science, frontline capability building, and technology delivery to design and implement customer centricity that accelerates growth.

What You'll Do

You will counsel clients on their commercial technology stack across sectors and propose specific tech-enablement solutions, centered in Salesforce.com, that unlock high value business improvements. 
You will design innovative solutions using your functional and technical expertise to address challenging business and customer issues, including technical architecture & integrations, governor limits, and object modeling across the SFDC environment and other core platforms. You will shape the digital commercial transformation of companies by building roadmaps and delivery plans to implement these requirements.
You will provide expert oversight to McKinsey’s Salesforce.com technical team in the design, build, and delivery of value unlocking use cases. You will build and maintain relationships with senior client executives and stakeholders across domains. You will collaborate with other areas of McKinsey’s Marketing and Sales practice, including analysts & data scientists, agile prototyping, solutions and transformation experts, and digital design specialists to provide a differentiating and distinctive capabilities for clients and their customers.  You will radiate your expertise on growth technology and the Salesforce.com platform, to support client development, client service, and mentorship of junior colleagues. You will lead practice-building initiatives (e.g. learning, knowledge, client development). 


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or other technical degree; master's degree is preferred
  • 13+ years of experience in technology system design and implementation, plus a proven track record of exceptional leadership 
  • Experience in translating business goals, customer/user needs to commercial technology and articulating how it can unlock value 
  • Experience in presenting and communicating SFDC architecture and roadmap to client executives 
  • Experience in project management methodologies (waterfall and agile) adapted to Salesforce.com implementations 
  • Experience in pre-sales, proposal development and diagnostic / discovery phases 
  • Experience in solution definitions to match the solution design specifications and advising a team of functional consultants on aspects around delivery of the architecture of the SFDC Sales and Marketing solution. 
  • Experience in complex negotiation regarding scope changes, planification and implementation methodology 
  • SFDC Certification and experience in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud required; certification in Marketing Cloud and CPQ also desired 
  • Applied knowledge of ecosystem of solutions (ie. appexchange) and when to apply 
  • Applied knowledge around other CRM solutions 
  • Solid problem solving skills, disaggregate issues, develop hypotheses and actionable recommendations from data and analysis. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate with peers and inspire junior colleagues
