Human Resource Generalist - Fixed Term contract

Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our Casablanca office as part of Africa Office Human Resources team. You will work collaboratively with the leadership of other functions in the Africa office as well as other firm functions including people legal, immigration legal, payroll, talent management, mobility, recruiting and professional development. You will report to the Africa Manager of Human Resources.

This is an immediate hire post. Applicants should be available to start within a period of two weeks. The role is a fixed term contract with a period of 9 months.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will act as a trusted source of information and counsellor to colleagues and play a front-line role in answering HR questions and escalate issues as needed. You will independently manage efforts such as onboarding and offboarding procedures (new hire orientation, benefits administration, contract management, etc.). You will also be responsible for payroll administration (providing inputs to payroll team, reviewing payroll reports, and performing relevant tasks related to expense and reimbursements).
In addition, you will be responsible for HR data and documents management such as issuing employment letters, salary certificates and leaves tracking. You will also coordinate other programs as appropriate (e.g., role change, rotations, mobility, immigration, and alternative programs such as flex and remote working). You will also engage with ad-hoc, weekly, and annual personnel analysis and rep letter; accountable for HR standards, data management with an audit mindset; leverages HR Operations support.
You will be accountable for communication and interpretation of policies and procedures, as well as risk management efforts, protecting the firm and firm members from risk. Moreover, you will actively build expertise in areas such as People Central and other HR systems and may also develop specific expertise in other HR processes across the life cycle, proactively identifying issues and proposing solutions. You will also perform other duty HR projects to support office/firm priorities, contributing to efforts beyond immediate scope as needed.


  • University degree preferably in HR or related field
  • 3+ years of general HR experience
  • Knowledge of HR/people systems (e.g., People Central)
  • Previous experience in payroll administration is a must
  • Understanding of local labor considerations (Moroccan labor law)
  • Ability to navigate the life cycle of events for colleagues, employee relations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to manage ambiguity with an open mind and positive attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with a diverse range of people in a fair and consistent manner
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Evidence of sound judgment, professionalism, maturity, and trustworthiness
  • Comfort in independently engaging senior organizational leaders for alignment and decision making
  • Excellent command of Arabic, English & French languages is a must
