Professional Development Specialist
Who You'll Work With
McKinsey Digital & Analytics (DnA) is the global home to nearly 5,000 of the world’s most talented professionals across the fields of digital, analytics, and design. We work with clients to build analytics- and digital-driven organizations by combining proprietary approaches and assets with deep industry, functional, and technological expertise to help clients capture the most value from data and succeed in the digital age. Our cross-functional teams work with clients to drive at-scale, tech-enabled transformations, build new businesses, and create competitive advantage by optimizing core technology.
Part of DnA, Build by McKinsey is a global end-to-end tech delivery unit of 2000+ technologists, engineers, designers and product experts that powers the work of McKinsey Digital: build high performing businesses (including tech implementation), modernize core technology, and redefine customer experience.
You will be part of the DnA Europe. The role will be based in our Budapest Digital Studio (previously IncepTech). The Studio is a center of technology innovation for Europe, focused on helping clients with digital transformations, and home to a team of 90+ experts with transformative powers in software engineering, digital expertise, and business building. As part of the established European DnA people team, the role will have strong links to both the Studio and regional DnA people and leadership teams.
What You'll Do
You will take end-to-end ownership of the Professional Development and staffing for a cohort of Build consultants (likely 1-2 guilds) across Europe. You will develop and staff consultants. You will ensure consultants are appropriately staffed to teams to ensure they have appropriate roles and a positive team experience. You will monitor each consultant's development, career progression, and other career related topics as they arise; provide these consultants with formal and informal feedback related to their staffing and evaluations. You will work closely with development group leaders (DGLs) and guild leads, to ensure that consultants receive timely and required development opportunities, while reflecting needs in client service.
You will build trust and credibility. You will build a strong, trust-based relationship with consultants including an in-depth understanding of professional aspirations, experience, strengths, development needs, and relevant personal skills. You will build capabilities to appropriately guide and support the consultants in the journey and staffing. You will help engagement directors (EDs) to navigate expert staffing. You will acquire and continuously refresh a sound understanding of the industry’s/sector’s key clients, hot topics, and firm expertise/staffing pools that are relevant to bring the best of the firm (and DnA) to a given study. You will support EDs in considering, identifying, and accessing the right staffing pools/skills that are the best fit for their studies and help them compose the team accordingly.
You will contribute to preparation of expert reviews for a cohort as part of a newly formed regional DnA expert/build committee, and in-room support on the day(s) of the review and be the go-to person for DGLs and educate them around the markers for our DnA client service professional (CSPs) in cooperation with the DnA Talent management team. You will support ad-hoc projects/requests for the Budapest Studio and DnA Europe. This could include topics such as learning, and mentorship and sponsorship.
