Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our Shanghai office and will be part of the Oil & Gas practice in our global Client Capabilities Network. You will be working closely with consultants serving our clients globally in the topic domain of oil & gas.

What You'll Do

You will leverage a solid understanding of business trends, issues, and concepts to efficiently respond to complex research questions by delivering synthesized, actionable facts and insights to our consulting teams and clients.
In this role, you will work alongside senior colleagues on larger client projects, internal knowledge and capability building initiatives. By collecting and analyzing data and information found in databases and/or other primary and secondary research tools, you will assemble a fact base, counsel consultants and clients on a variety of oil and gas topics, and provide insights and analysis for solving client problems.
You will likely perform a variety of analyses such as benchmarking, trend identification, industry profiling, market sizing, growth projections, opportunity scanning, etc., to add value to problem-solving discussions. Lastly, you’ll provide synthesis, insight and client implications within tight deadlines via end products in the form of PowerPoint charts, written memos, models and frameworks.
In time, you will deepen your topic knowledge to become a content expert.
There is flexibility to hire at different levels, depending on candidate experience.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field (oil & gas, petroleum); an advanced degree is an advantage
  • Relevant industry, research or analytics experience 
  • Solid understanding of economic, financial, and general business concepts and terminology
  • Advanced Excel skills (VBA programming is not required, but is a plus)
  • Knowledge of databases, such as Access and SQL is helpful
  • Familiarity with core statistical concepts (e.g., correlation, regressions, confidence intervals, etc.)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively
  • Proficiency in conversational and business English and Chinese is required
