Capabilities & Insights Analyst - Regional Research Team
Who You'll Work With
You will work in our Chennai Client Capability Center, as part of the Regional Research team.
You will be a part of our Global Client Capability Network (CCN), which includes more than 3,000 Client Capability professionals who work alongside our consultants and clients to generate distinctive insights and proprietary knowledge. You will also help develop, codify, sanitize, and manage our global knowledge portal, which includes more than 50,000 documents that form the backbone of our firm's knowledge management.
What You'll Do
You will leverage a solid understanding of business trends, issues, and concepts to efficiently respond to complex research questions by delivering synthesized, actionable facts and insights to our consulting teams and clients.
As an analyst, you will work with consultants and fellow analysts to understand, disaggregate, and prioritize their information needs. You will help the McKinsey client service teams determine the most appropriate solution to the issues they are working on, delivering cutting-edge insights and expertise, deploying existing capabilities and incubating new solutions.
Your day-to-day tasks may include identifying the key issues for the problem at hand and determining the most appropriate solution while effectively balancing quality, availability, timeliness, and cost factors. You’re likely perform a variety of analyses such as benchmarking, trend identification, industry profiling, market sizing, growth projections, opportunity scanning, etc., in order to add value to problem-solving discussions, and you’ll provide synthesis, insight and client implications within tight deadlines via end products in the form of PowerPoint charts, written memos, models and framework. In time, you will also participate in, and eventually lead, internal knowledge development and capability-building initiatives for the team.
You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues within the Client Capability Centers globally on larger client projects and internal knowledge initiatives.
You will also coach and nurture junior colleagues to enable them to deliver distinctive client impact and work on day-to-day team operations.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree; post-graduate or advanced degree in a related field, typically economics, business or MBA; relevant work experience is a plus
- Entrepreneurial self-starter that enjoys the challenges and rewards of research work, juggles high-level priorities in a dynamic and changing environment with the ability
- Inspiring people leader – committed people developer, enables cohesive and collaborative team culture, fosters innovation
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build relationships within the team and with multiple stakeholders at all levels within McKinsey
- Strong business awareness; perspective on local markets particularly demographic/business/economic trends is good to have
- Solid understanding of economic, financial, and general business concepts and terminology
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
- Willing to work in a highly demanding and result-oriented team environment
