Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree; advanced degree (e.g., MA, MS) in a relevant discipline (e.g., business administration, environmental science, economics) is preferred
- 1+ years of experience in sustainability research and sustainability management consulting in topics such as water and waste/circularity management, ESG performance, sustainability regulations, GHG emissions, carbon capture, or other environmental topics
- Familiarity with US public sources of environmental data, government data, as well as other private sources (e.g., EPA ECHO, GWI, Bloomberg)
- Excellent oral/written communication and online research skills; the ability to recognize reputable sources and to synthesize information from multiple sources
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- High level of initiative and entrepreneurial drive coupled with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organization and collaborate in a hybrid working team environment
- Experience with business, geospatial, and other analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, ArcGIS, SQL, R, Python) is a plus

A reasonable estimate of the range for new joiners for this role in the United States is $92,000 - $95,000. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to an individual's assigned office location, experience and expertise. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to McKinsey’s discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance.
