Who You'll Work With

You’ll work with McKinsey China Client Capability Center, the research arm of McKinsey's Greater China Office and part of McKinsey's global Knowledge Network, which is based in Shanghai. This position provides an excellent platform for researchers to build up broad and solid fundamental knowledge and skills in a wide range of topics, including catering industry, macroeconomics, public sector, organization, etc.

What You'll Do

You will be responsible for the development of the clients' food division's strategy, operations, business development planning, the development of the annual channel overall strategic planning, focusing on the development of strategic projects, the implementation and overall operational management, such as food and beverage channel development.
You will be responsible for catering and food B2B supply chain services focus on the planning and implementation of the project, through personal or industry resources, leading the team into the completion of the food B2B business development, schools, enterprises and institutions, group meals canteens, food processing enterprises, other special channels.
You will coordinate clients' internal departments, including sales channel, e-commerce, supply chain, marketing, logistics and industrial processing, etc., and giving guidance and coordination to all departments according to the strategic direction and operation of China Foods. You will be responsible for providing analyses and expertise suggestion of branding related client service topics, such as new product development, consumer insights, brand and product propositioning, pricing, and presenting the insights to clients in McKinsey standard. Further, you’ll likely to be in charge of conducting interviews with internal experts or external best practice players and share insights within tight deadlines. Serving as a thought partner, you’ll also have the chance to engage in team problem solving, share evolving business trends, and contribute to final suggestions and proposals.
You will also contribute to building firm knowledge in the marketing and sales function, delivering fact-packs, knowledge nuggets, qualification packs, methodology guide, etc. along your engagement experience in the firm.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin (both oral and written)
  • Graduate or post-graduate degree in business, marketing, psychology, etc.
  • 12+ years of related working experience
  • Solid understanding of operation strategy and channel marketing of catering industry. Rich customer resources etc.
  • Experience in food B2B supply chain services, extensive downstream channel resources is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skill, professional in client-facing context
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel
