Who You'll Work With

You will lead and accelerate the delivery of target state cloud-based platforms and the migration of legacy assets. You will build cloud-based platforms and products delivering a next-gen client and colleague experience in a high-energy agile environment.
You will be based in our Prague office and you will join McKinsey's Tech Ecosystem organization, as a core member of both the Product Management function and as part of the Productized Platforms committed to solving problems for people using cloud-based container technology. You will work with teams in technology hubs (New York, Waltham, Gurgaon, and Prague) as well as colleagues in other locations. Our product managers work closely in product teams alongside experts in various disciplines - designers, engineers, more - and together the product team relentlessly strives to deliver outcomes that matter.
You and your product team will work together to discover opportunities, experiment, test and learn, and deliver solutions using our own mix of methodologies, including design thinking to help us understand people's needs, wants, and problems; lean methodologies to experiment fast and learn a lot; and agile approaches to reduce uncertainty by working in short dev cycles and pausing to reflect and adapt.
What You'll Do
As a Cloud Network Product Manager, you will play a lead role in setting a shared vision, understanding value, and prioritizing work of building out a scalable, secure cloud platform for our cloud network products. To do that well, you must develop a deep understanding of the target market, which includes firm-focused analytics teams, other product managers, architects and developers, partner infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders.
In partnership with key stakeholders and your product team, you will set an ambitious and clear product vision that will deliver high-quality platform for our cloud network products. This will involve identifying and prioritizing key features and capabilities, as well as working closely with engineering and design teams to ensure that the platform is built to meet the needs of our customers.
You will devise ways to experiment and test innovative ideas in a rapid and reliable fashion and plan for and ensure customer-driven design, considering market and technology opportunities and user pain points. You will also ensure there is regular, direct interaction of the whole product team with the user community to empathize with their needs.
You should also understand and be able to execute some of the key capabilities of experts on the product team so that more work can be shared and team member empathy is ensured (e.g. UX, technical, change management). Additionally, to help you and your product team get to outcomes that matter, you will get expert support from service functions (e.g., analytics, communications, training). You will be part of a Product Management guild where you will have ample opportunity to grow your skills and further the craft of Product Management.
Qualifications
- Product/Software development experience in agile environments
- Preferred to have knowledge of networking concepts, such as IP addressing, routing, and switching
- Broad understanding of cloud providers, mainly AWS and Azure
- Preferred to have experience with cloud security throughout its lifecycle
- Record of managing complex work involving various work streams in highly effective, cross-functional and agile engineering teams
- Demonstrated experience with medium to large enterprise-scale projects
- Track record of data-driven decision making
- Entrepreneurial mindset with an ability to navigate ambiguity, while keeping a focus on strategic outcomes; ability to ‘put things into perspective’ for team and stakeholders
- Ability to establish trust-based relationships with senior McKinsey leaders, and thought partner with business teams
- Influencing skills that drive alignment with a breadth of stakeholders in a non-hierarchical environment
- Skilled at leading divergent problem-solving sessions enabling healthy debate between diverse views, but then bringing the thinking together on priorities and path forward
- Mastery of wide range of product management and design thinking techniques and tools such as customer journey maps, service blueprints, vision workshops, roadmaps, storymaps
- Keen sense of empathy with the user, and champion of user-centric design
- Growth mindset, always looking to improve self, work of the product team and adapt to the culture of the organization
- Communication skills (written and verbal) that reflect structured, clear, and objective thinking
- Ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences to enable business outcomes through technology
- Degree in computer science or engineering or related discipline or industry recognized; cloud certification is preferred
