Proposal Director - Social, Healthcare, Public Sector Entities (SHaPE)
Who You'll Work With
You will be based in our Washington DC office and will focus on proposal development for SHaPE (Social Healthcare and Public Sector Entities) Practice global clients.
You will report directly to directly to the Global Director of Proposal Excellence and indirectly to the Director of Strategy & Operations for Global SHaPE, and join our enthusiastic and driven global practices team and network of proposal professionals. You will be involved in strategic discussions as you partner with consulting teams and the sector and practice leaders to expand the firm’s impact with clients and entities.
What You'll Do
You will provide oversight to a global team of proposal colleagues and will be responsible for large portfolio of proposals across multiple teams, driving multi-regional initiatives to improve proposal quality.
You will set the standards for clear proposal writing, and display a proven, sustained ability to create a high level of impact across the spectrum of proposal management activities.
Cross-cutting responsibilities include:
- Play a strategic role as a partner/senior partner peer in designing and communicating the proposal strategy for a cell
- Oversee complex portfolio of proposals for regional/practice-wide proposal team
- Innovate new firm-wide approaches for proposal development, which are integrated and used in the broader network
- Develop and codify proposal best practices
- Define the vision for the global team, including setting the people path, selecting tools & technologies to improve quality & process
- Develop expertise in cell’s and broader firm capabilities, so that the best of the firm is deployed in proposals
- Set overall learning strategy for proposal development related firm learning content
- Build community and network across practices & geographies (e.g. collaborating with other firm functions such as risk, legal, communications, client development)
- For specific proposals: Develop the “win strategy” for proposals – how to differentiate from likely competitors, themes that will resonate most with clients. Lead end-to-end management of proposal delivery, including creating workplans and orchestrating key personnel as they write proposals, reviewing proposals, and generally running a process that delivers proposals on time. Conduct final compliance and quality review for all proposals. Prepare partners for oral presentations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Deep knowledge & expertise in proposal management and client communications across public sector entities
- Excellent project management capabilities
- Excellent verbal/written communications demonstrated experience with proposal management
- Excellent relationship-building skills
- Proven ability to drive to results
