Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our Wroclaw office. You will be a part of our Life Sciences Intelligence Team (LSi), within our global Client Capabilities Network (CCN), who work alongside our consultants and clients to generate distinctive insights and proprietary knowledge. Our Client Capabilities Network (CCN) team empowers clients and consulting teams with advanced, yet easy-to-use, analytical capabilities that can generate superior insights and transform client conversations and aspires to build one of the world’s most sophisticated groups of experts, sets of databases and analytical techniques.
Specifically, you will be part of the Global LSi Team consisting of over 115+ professionals across major hubs in Boston, New Jersey, New York, Germany, London, Brussels, Poland, Lisbon, India, Japan, and China. The LSi practice helps clients across multiple functional service lines such as Commercial, R&D, and Operations, as well as a host of other domains and communities of practice. The LSi Team in Europe has over 30+ professionals, cutting across both knowledge and analytics domains and spreads across 5 locations.
You will have oversight of strategy and operations of this team, including management of sources and our relationship with outsourcing partners. You will sit on the Global LSi Leadership Team and could work with global colleagues to shape strategy and operations for the entire practice.
You will report directly into the Director of Client Capabilities and work closely with her on the above. We believe the LSi Team has exciting years ahead – the ability to significantly expand our service offering to internal and external clients; to meaningfully develop and advance our portfolio of proprietary analytical and knowledge assets; to play a bigger role in externalizing our knowledge and broadening our networks.
You will have the access to numerous and tailored training opportunities, and great opportunities to achieve impact with our clients.

What You'll Do

You will contribute to defining the strategic priorities and initiatives for the Europe Team as well as the Global overall LSi team priorities. You will share suggestions for asset development and analyst-led analysis, to enhance the LSi offerings. You will standardize the operating model to deliver standard recipes and analyses (e.g. analyst deployment, pricing, alignment etc.). You will work with the LS leaders and Manager on mapping out new knowledge, elevating client service, and motivating the team.
Your day-to-day tasks will include leading people strategy and operations for the team by cooperating with global leaders and people specialist on topics such as: managing professional development for the team, recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, connectivity and evaluation.
You will have the change to improve the unit performance by leading a range of projects aiming at the development of the quality or efficiency (e.g., around systems and tools, performance management, people development, or other specific projects). You will identify opportunities to broaden client and team impact, and creatively solve problems without always waiting for direction. 
You will identify and build content knowledge in a specific domain of choice by working closely with domain leadership to shape the strategy, as well as by cooperating with client service teams to serve clients either directly or indirectly on your particular topic of expertise. You will deliver high quality research, knowledge, and analytics support to McKinsey consulting teams in Europe and manage team workflow ensuring balanced workloads, timely responses, and tight quality controls.
You will play an active role in providing to client service teams: by scoping problems with consulting teams, offering guidance concerning best intelligence team approaches, providing personal perspectives and analysis.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience (e.g., experience in the life sciences, healthcare and/or experience in managing teams)
  • Graduate degree, postgraduate degree in business, economics or MBA is a plus
  • Solid understanding of economic, financial, and general business concepts and terminology
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and basic business tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Passion for research, willingness to develop a content spike
  • Ability to quickly ramp up on Life Sciences data sources and how to navigate them
  • Interest in working with client service teams/clients while simultaneously leading a team
  • Superior problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Established track record of creatively retrieving, analyzing, and presenting complex industry and business information
  • Proactive at identifying potential risks/challenges and creative at working toward solutions in a collaborative manner
  • Excellent process management and attention to detail while being able to see the big picture
  • Experience in managing multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams or delivering global/regional assignments
  • Able to work with and effectively coach a diverse group of team members
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working in multi-cultural environments
