Who You'll Work With
You will join one of our offices in Chicago, Dallas, New York, Phoenix, San Jose, Summit, Tampa, Toronto, Waltham or Washington DC and be part of McKinsey’s Compliance function, whose mission is to enable McKinsey’s client impact and innovation, while managing compliance risks to the firm, our clients, and our people. The Compliance function is a globally integrated team within the second line of defense of the firm risk model. This opportunity works in the Client Service Compliance (CSC) pillar, specifically in an operational excellence capacity. The CSC Operational Excellence team is responsible for risk management through advisory and project management. This role reports to the Client Service Compliance Strategy and Operational Excellence Director.
What You'll Do
You will work with the Operational Excellence team to evolve the global playbook for the function and its sub functions, using transformation best practices including the influence model, risk culture, and effective communications approaches.
You will work as part of the firm’s Client Service Compliance team playing an important role assisting with project management activities for engagement lifecycle monitoring, diligence, public sector, regulatory screening & monitoring and conflicts of interest management. You will be focused on assisting in the development and implementation of processes, controls, frameworks, and standard operating procedures enabled through technology, as appropriate.
You will lead stakeholder workshops and interviews to understand current practices and develop potential solutions for key process and policy design choices and develop creative approaches to adapt and change behaviors across the firm in a colleague-centric manner. You will develop outputs and reports in a concise, easily understood, and visually appealing manner.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree
- MBA, graduate degree or well-recognized certification related to risk management or compliance is preferred
- 2+ years’ professional experience in professional services and/or Big 4 consulting and/or enterprise risk management and/or policy governance and/or compliance
- 2+ years’ professional experience related to project or program management
- Familiarity with design and implementation of operational controls and monitoring of controls is highly preferred
- Familiarity with management of organizational regulatory obligations is highly preferred
- Familiarity with application and use of data analytics in a compliance function
- Demonstrated ability to work across various levels of seniority while ensuring a balance between advising and tracking progress
- Strong conceptual problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail to ensure high quality of work products
- Ability to quickly grasp and own business processes and culture to effectively tailor working approach
- Outstanding English written and oral communication skills, including clear and concise writing and editorial skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize and balance competing, time-urgent demands and geographies
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Experience with project management of technology implementation is a plus
