Who You'll Work With
You’ll work in our Wroclaw office as a part of our global Client Capability Network (CCN), which includes more than 8,000 knowledge professionals who work alongside our consultants and clients to generate distinctive insights and proprietary knowledge.
You will be joining an international team of 20+ analysts focusing on a variety of business domains. You will be a part of our growing Crisis Management capability, part of McKinsey’s global crisis preparedness and response network that helps clients to develop and implement strategies based on our extensive expertise, deep industry knowledge, front-line operating experience, and a proven ability to drive organizational transformation.
What You'll Do
You will conduct research and analysis covering a broad range of topics across various sectors and business functions in the first 3-6 months, and gradually specialize in the area of crisis preparedness and response.
In this role, you will initially work alongside experienced content experts. Supporting client projects, you will apply proprietary tools and methodologies and follow a data-driven approach to solve the most challenging crisis management (from natural disasters to stakeholder management) problems out there.
You will be participating in problem-solving sessions and discussions to share your research results to help businesses, governments, and non-governmental organizations across sectors define and realize their crisis preparedness and recovery goals, including business continuity. Additionally, you will be developing assets, knowledge, and tools within the field of crisis management. Within time you will be encouraged to develop into a world-class expert acting as a thought partner to McKinsey senior leadership and our clients.

Qualifications
- Masters or PhD degree in public affairs, international relations, economics or similar field of study with crisis management component
- Strong interest in economic, business, and regulatory aspects of crisis management, emergency management, natural disaster recovery, crisis communications, stakeholder management, post-crisis recovery, business continuity
- Any previous professional or academic experience in the area of crisis management would be an asset
- Ambition to work in a fast-paced, result-oriented team and company, with a steep learning curve and strong commitment to coaching and development
- Enthusiasm to work in a start-up environment, with agile digital product-development, in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team
- Superior problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, and to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in English is required, any additional language capability is considered as an asset
