Who You'll Work With

You’ll work with our Periscope team in our San Jose, Costa Rica office. Periscope is the technology backbone of McKinsey’s Growth, Marketing & Sales Practice. The Growth, Marketing & Sales Practice strives to help clients in both consumer and business-to-business environments on a wide variety of marketing and sales topics. Our clients benefit from our experience in core areas of sales and marketing topics such as sales and channel management, branding, customer insights, marketing ROI, digital marketing, customer lifecycle management, and pricing. Our Practice offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of sales, marketing, and solutions consulting. Periscope leverages its world-leading IP (largely from McKinsey but also other partners) and best-in-class technology to enable transparency into Big Data, create actionable insights, and new ways of working that drive lasting performance improvement, and typically sustain a 2-7% increase in return on sales (ROS). With a truly global reach, the portfolio of solutions is comprised of: Marketing Solutions, Customer Experience Solutions, Category Solutions, B2C Pricing Solutions, B2B Pricing Solutions, and Sales Solutions. These are complemented by ongoing client service and custom capability building programs.

What You'll Do

You will work closely with Periscope leadership and diverse McKinsey colleagues in a matrixed environment to define, set-up, and manage the solution delivery processes and tools. Solution Delivery Managers work on more than one project and client at any point in time and are at the core of bridging client business challenges with Periscope’s capabilities.
You will leverage Periscope® by McKinsey platform and firm assets to create a sustainable impact and ensure the client's success. You will often work on more than one project at any point in time and will be at the core of bridging client business challenges with Periscope’s capabilities.
In this role, you will work with Periscope leadership and client IT and business representatives in joint problem-solving sessions, and define the project scope as well as staffing requirements. You will also enable process improvements to gain efficiencies and enable a faster transition to steady-state; through driving the discussions with the product development team by providing ongoing feedback on solutions and opportunities to enhance/add features.
You will support clients in their usage of Periscope solution and engage with client sponsors as well as program leadership on a regular basis to drive user adoption, and drive the process of converting and enriching client raw data and deliver the insights related to the business challenges at stake.
As a Solution Delivery Manager, you will develop and execute end-to-end project management activities, including deployment, and client success phases of the project. You will meticulously plan team tasks and track them to completion while closely monitoring risks, issues and resolve team conflicts. Furthermore, you will execute the project with agreed requirements (cost, schedule, functionality, customer satisfaction) and professional stakeholder management to ensure business success and customer value; monitor and communicate the progress of project delivery. You will ensure timely and effective communication of project status, schedule, cost, and assessment of risks/issues.
Given the pace of this role, you will be expected to manage relationships with senior leaders & cross-functional teams throughout the project life cycle. You will also coach and mentor junior team members by sharing business, functional and technical expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (MBA is a plus)
  • 8+ years of relevant and professional work experience; accustomed to acting as the interface of business and technology in an agile and fast-changing environment
  • Experience managing the implementation and/or solution deployment program and/or ongoing operations in the service industry
  • Strong project management skills (on time, within budget, according to scope, and with flexibility when required, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of working with large databases, data visualization tools, IT solution applications
  • Creative problem-solving skills; comfortable with handling risks and dealing with ambiguous situations
  • Strict compliance with initial budget and planning; managing any delays or overruns with service lines
  • Strong communications and negotiation skills that can be employed to build relationships and achieve goals
  • Comfortable working with all levels of management, with the ability to critically evaluate and communicate business issues/risks with conviction to client and partners
  • Able to act as a thought-partner to clients, client project teams, leaders and partners
  • Analytical and strategic focus, with ability to drive exploration and draw conclusions from multiple data sources
