Product Reliability Engineer II

Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our Atlanta or San Jose, Costa Rica office as part of the Product and Platform Services in Managed Cloud Services group in McKinsey’s Tech Ecosystem function, a one stop solution for all the tooling needs of the product teams at the firm.
You will be working with the Engineering Productivity squad that takes care of different tools and services a software developer uses like source code management, CICD, test automation platforms, artefact management along with monitoring insights tools.

What You'll Do

You will be responsible for enabling product development teams to better deliver quality and secure products by using cloud native tools.
You will create an ecosystem for hosting CICD, code scanning, artifact management solutions and make sure we have logging and alerting on cloud. Together with the team, you will take care of all tool operations like upgrades, patches, etc. You’ll be member of a squad, having technical capability to develop and implement various tools and services needed by developers during SDLC.
You will be working with different product teams to understand the kind of services they will need to better manage the development life cycle of their products hosted on cloud. You will be responsible for stability and reliability of services and products used by developers for their day to day work. You will adhere to software development best practices, standards and roadmaps as well as deliver components with high code quality and security.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in a technology related field
  • 3+ years of experience with software development, DevOps, CICD, and Logging and alerting
  • Hands on engineering experience with at least one of the major cloud providers (AWS, Azure)
  • Knowledge on Cloud Formation, Lambda and ARMExperience with DevOps tools for CI/CD, version control, infrastructure as code (CircleCI, GitHub, Terraform), Logging (splunk) and alerting (New-relic, Dynatrace)
  • Working experience in container orchestration technologies
  • Good knowledge of core ITIL and ITSM Processes and able to own Root cause analysis
  • Specialist in web technologies like REST, API, authentication, integration
  • Hands on experience with at least one programming language (Java/NodeJS/Python/Ruby)
  • First-hand understanding of Agile development methodologies
