Communications Coordinator

Who You'll Work With

You will join a group of communications professionals within the firm’s Reach and Engagement function. These colleagues help ensure that appropriate insights reach designated audiences, building awareness and engagement with McKinsey’s distinctive knowledge on a variety of topics. They shape the way the firm connects with people, from clients to employees to alumni, across the Netherlands.
You will directly contribute to the development and implementation of best-in-class communications programs by taking ownership of report launches, internal and external events, and by adapting global campaigns to the local market.
In this role within the Amsterdam office, you will work closely with the Manager of Communications on communications-related topics for the local leadership and collaborate with the Belux team to ensure consistency and to identify and capture synergies. You will predominantly work on the development and execution of a reputation-building strategy for McKinsey in The Netherlands. In parallel, you will support the dissemination of our knowledge to senior executives in The Netherlands.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will leverage and develop a range of skills, such as writing, project management, attention to detail, and self-motivation to contribute to the overall success of the function.
You will create clear, structured, and engaging written communications products (e.g., memos, emails, short-form content, blogs, talking points/scripts, Q&A) that rigorously follow conventions of written English. You will contribute (through brainstorming, editing, writing, and/or creating) to the strategic development of external and/or internal communications (e.g., paid media, earned media, CRM support, social media support). You’ll assist in the planning and execution of communications for reports, special projects (e.g., digital strategy design, knowledge partnership strategy), external/internal conferences, and events (e.g., forums, webinars, roundtables).
You will perform relevant quality and risk reviews of communications, proactively identifying and raising risks with colleagues, and suggesting potential courses of action. You will stay up to date on the latest thought leadership and relevant industry content and insights, and ensure they are built into messaging strategically. You will contribute to relevant data tracking within operations and data collection for potential client leads, providing updates to leadership when necessary. You’ll also build and maintain contact databases to maximize dissemination and engagement.
In addition to the outlined responsibilities, candidates with hands-on experience in data analysis and/or content creation will have an advantage. Proficiency in tools such as Photoshop, InDesign, and video editing software is highly valued for contributing to the creative aspects of our communications strategies.

  • Proficiency and fluency in verbal and written Dutch and English is required
  • Knowledge of Data Analytics and/or Data Visualization (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
