Senior Network Engineer I
Who You'll Work With
You’ll be a member of an IT team based in our Shanghai China office, part of our Technology & Digital Engineering and Implementation function. This team owns and manages a new Cloud environment for users based in our Greater China offices.
You will work closely with McKinsey Leadership, various technology teams across Technology & Digital, as well as 3rd party IT vendors.
What You'll Do
You will be a key member of team responsible for ongoing support, design, and information security of a dynamic new Cloud environment.
This includes designing and implementing new technology components, conducting system maintenance and administration of core infrastructure.
The team is responsible for gathering user requirements, leading the development and integration of these requirements into the environment and working closely with engineers across technologies on implementation. As well as properly communicating potential impact of changes in scope, user requirements and project commitments to all stakeholders.
Qualifications
- University degree and excellent academic record required; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking design and implementation
- In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
- Hands-on knowledge and experience in cloud networking (Azure or AWS) are required
- Rich experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g. Azure LogAnalytics, Netflow, Splunk, etc.)
- Solid knowledge and experience in at least three of the following networking areas: LAN, WAN, Load Balancer, Firewall, VPN, Proxy, SDN, CDN
- Familiar with popular network security knowledge and tools
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an Agile team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in Chinese & English
- Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively
- Knowledge of DNS, Infrastructure life cycle management a must
- Knowledge of IPv6IaC, Automation, Python, Ansible, REST API concepts a plus
- Networking certificate, ion is preferred (Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, etc.)
