Senior Accountant/Accountant
Who You'll Work With
You’ll be part of our Finance team, with the majority (but not exclusively) of your focus on our South Africa location. Our Finance team consists of colleagues from different parts of the world and is also part of a larger EEMA (Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa) region.
You will be based in our Johannesburg office.
What You'll Do
You will be responsible for the implementation/maintenance of controls and compliance with our firm accounting policies, ensuring accuracy of monthly results for your location, all accounting processes, projects and initiatives with little oversight and drive innovation on processes, controls, reporting and compliance.
Your duties will also include: audit processes, local tax and other governance requirements as appropriate based on local and firm requirements; all elements of the local Treasury function; supporting colleagues in the local office, as required; playing a critical role in the coordination of the location finance function with the relevant support teams (Corporate tax team, Firm reporting teams etc.).
You will coach and develop more junior team members and may have over-sight of their work.
Additionally, you will take part in ad-hoc tasks/projects, as required by your location/office.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting field
- 3+ years of finance experience, ideally in a professional service environment
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English as well as the local office language
- Excellent in analytics and problem solving
- Able to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent MS Office skills (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access)
- Some SAP knowledge recommended
