Finance Associate – US Payroll

Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our Chennai office as part of our Global Payroll team, which is part of our Global Finance & Accounts service line. This group processes payroll of the firm members.

What You'll Do

You will be responsible for reviewing de minimis/processing tax credits, preparing headcount reconciliation, initiating funding requests (pension, net payroll, taxes), maintaining cycle tracker, uploading tax files to ADP, preparing journalization files, distributing payroll errors to admins for review/correction, setting up new tax jurisdictions with ADP, preparing/researching/clearing tax and suspense reconciliations.
In this role, on monthly basis you will prepare/reconcile non-US pension file for external vendor, review and upload monthly PA New Hire and IL SUI reports, run CD reports for various stakeholders, load dependent care imputed income, perform and record gross-ups, process shadow transactions/run related processes, provide General Accounting with ACH returns/reversals and maintain payroll calendar.
On quarterly basis, you will prepare multiple worksite reporting, process educational loan forgiveness, prepare payment request and file WA Labor & Industries return, fix quarterly errors (i.e. SUI, FICA, negative wages) and process quarter files and upload to ADP.
You will record annual auto and interest free loan imputed income (including GTL for corporate officers), maintain year-end checklist, perform annual tax recon, upload W-2 file to vendor, coordinate mailing of W-2s, prepare Workers’ Comp audit and assist with annual external audit.
In this role, you will also be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with payroll vendors to resolve tax related issues, collaborate with payroll admins.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related fields preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in US Payroll; knowledge of ADP is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  • Strong familiarity with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong customer service mindset; solid judgement/professionalism when handling sensitive issues
  • Strong personal initiative with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
