Who You'll Work With

You will be based in one of our offices in the US, Europe or Costa Rica. You will be part of the Supplier Risk team within Optimize, McKinsey’s global procurement function that enhances and protects the firm’s resources and reputation by making responsible buying easy and creating leading solutions and experiences across our supplier ecosystem. This is a globally integrated team.
The Supplier Risk team leads and oversees the firm’s global supplier risk management program. You will report to the Director of Supplier Risk Strategy and work cross-functionally with key stakeholders including Ethics & Compliance, Risk, Legal as you lead, shape and deliver on the firm’s supplier risk initiatives and strategies.

What You'll Do

You will play a key role in enhancing and driving a best in class cross-risk and end-to-end supplier risk program. In this role, you will be responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of McKinsey's supplier risk framework. You will ensure that the framework aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, and continuously enhance it to address emerging risks and regulatory changes.
You have expertise in data backed regulatory reporting and compliance of the supply chain. You will lead the evaluation and improvement of the supplier risk program policies and processes to ensure compliance with new regulations such as EU supply chain due diligence and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. In collaboration with other McKinsey risk functions, you will help develop controls and data standards to accurately support external regulatory disclosure reporting. You are comfortable working with and leveraging the power of data to make informed decisions to manage supplier risks effectively. You will stay up to date on emerging regulations and rapidly evolving threats to develop insights and compelling recommendations to address these requirements. You will proactively communicate and present recommendations to leadership and other relevant stakeholders.
You will foster strong partnerships and collaborate regularly with global firm functions and risk teams including Global Social Responsibility, Ethics & Compliance, Sanctions, Finance, Category teams/ Sourcing and Legal. You will work closely with these teams to align supplier risk management efforts and ensure a coordinated approach. You will build strategies to drive special projects, market developments and/or internal customer needs. You will have the opportunity to build and implement strategies to address a diverse range of challenges on a global level.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable record of impact, with at least 8 years of professional experience out of which a minimum of five years, in compliance or third-party risk management, ideally in a global firm
  • Expertise in regulatory compliance and reporting related to supplier risk management
  • Firsthand experience of developing risk assessment methodologies, internal controls, processes and principles related to end-to-end supplier risk management, preferably in indirect procurement
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex information effectively
  • Superior communication skills, ability to inspire confidence among senior leadership, build and maintain highly effective and collaborative relationships
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with ability to drive global projects to outcomes, including on cross-functional and complex topics
  • Strong professional computing skills, including Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Comfortable with ambiguity in a work-setting, knowing how to address and manage unpredictable outcomes
  • Professional, impartial, and independent attitude with a high degree of integrity
