You’ll join our Gurugram, India office as part of One Firm Tech group. You will work with various product teams with a focus on application reliability, scalability and availability, running in container infrastructure.
This group is responsible for developing new products/services and integrating them into our client work. You will join a team of skilled engineers who work in a pure SRE mindset, providing reliable infrastructure and further develop towards enhancing the products.
Your team members are located across the world in different time zones (Czech Republic, Portugal, India, USA, Costa Rica).
What You'll Do
In your role as a Senior Engineer, you will develop capabilities which will serve as baseline for our clients and improve developer experience. You will contribute and master multiple technology skills (cloud, container orchestration, network, automation) with a strong focus on open-source products.
You will often combine ‘Agile’ with expertise in cloud, big data and mobile to create and maintain custom solutions, in a way consistent with SRE principles, that help clients increase productivity and make timely judgement. You will advocate CI/CD practices, the concept of error budgets and blameless postmortems.
You will act as a full stack engineer, skilled in cloud native models and in reliability engineering advisory. As an engineer in McKinsey, you will engage with multiple stakeholders on day to day basis, persuading them to adhere to firm best practices. You will be building trust and "one team" attitude within the team.
You will bring on expertise in SCM and CI/CD tooling and practices for container workloads, a variety of related developer workflows and master multiple programming and IaC languages. Your key focus will be to enable automated zero downtime deployments. You will also bring expertise in TDD fundamentals and practices as well as key test automation tools and frameworks.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience with software engineering best practices
- Sound experience in Public Cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
- Understanding of containerisation (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm)
- Experience with programming languages (preferably Python or Golang)
- Knowledge of IaC (preferably Terraform)
- Experience in SCM and CI/CD tooling (GitHub, Jfrog)
- Experience with monitoring and data analytics tools (Dynatrace, Splunk)
- Sound communication skills
- Able to work independently and mentor junior colleagues
- Knowledge of web and database products and rest APIs (Nginx, Postgres, Mongo, Redis)
- Understanding of load balancing, network security, standard network protocols
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, Salesforce or related tools
- Understanding of other public cloud provider components and services is a plus
