Who You'll Work With

You’ll work with McKinsey China Client Capability Center, the research arm of McKinsey's Greater China Office and part of McKinsey's global Knowledge Network, which is based in Shanghai.

Your impact within our firm

You'll articulate, scope, and prioritize research needs, and identify and gather relevant company, industry, and economic information using a broad spectrum of appropriate sources.
You'll be responsible for providing analyses and expertise suggestions of marketing and sales-related client service topics, such as new product development, consumer insights, brand and product propositioning, pricing, and presenting the insights to clients in McKinsey standard.
You'll be an important source of intellectual insight on a client project, framing business problems in a way that the team can then execute to drive impact and client value. Specifically, you'll be responsible for identifying and developing new client opportunities to advise companies on transformational change and capability building, leading confirmed engagements on day-to-day problem solving, team management, and client management, bringing in deep functional knowledge, expertise, and proprietary tools to every client situation.
Lastly, you'll have the chance to leverage internal and external networks, engage in team problem solving, share evolving business trends and best practices, and contribute to knowledge creation initiatives.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Graduate or post-graduate degree in business, marketing, statistics, economics, management, media, or mathematics; MBA with a strong quantitative background is a plus
  • 8+ years of work experience in marketing and sales-related functions; a strong sales background is preferred
  • Solid understanding of marketing and sales, eCommerce, as well as economic, financial, and general business concepts and terminologies; preferred experience in the fast moving consumer goods industry
  • Excellent people skills
  • Professional in client-facing context
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin (both oral and written)
