Job ID: 94633
  • Wroclaw

Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges—the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day? If this sounds like you, you’ve come to the right place.

Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our Wroclaw office as part of our Client Capabilities Network (CCN) and as a member of our MineSpans team.
MineSpans provides mining and metals companies as well as financial institutions with the strategic business intelligence they need to identify, quantify and prioritize opportunities in business. MineSpans is a suit of analytical tools that combines McKinsey metals and mining industry expertise with data and analytics to help clients obtain a more reliable view on supply, costs, demand and CO2 for the metals and mining commodities.

Your impact within our firm

You will support a team of experienced mining analysts to further develop cost, supply, demand and CO2 models and strengthen MineSpans’ mining and metals suite of commodities.
In this role, you will learn how to effectively research on basic materials markets and properly analyze and utilize the data with different techniques and software tools. On a daily basis, you will analyze mines in depth to develop a deep understanding of the market as well as share your insights to your colleagues. You will also participate in the firm’s knowledge-building efforts by creating industry and commodity perspectives and maintaining a comprehensive database of mining operations.
You will gain knowledge on how to efficiently work in a team, contacting diverse people from different continents through online communication. You will also develop understanding of the mining industry as well as commodity specifics. This will not only include mining economics (supply, operational costs) but also the technicalities (mining and processing technologies).
This internship program will enhance your professional and personal development through mentoring and coaching sessions with tenured colleagues. This will last up to 12 months with a minimum of 25 work hours per week. You will have the opportunity for a permanent role depending on the success of your internship and open roles at the time.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Drive and passion to deliver on meaningful projects
