Your Impact

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer I with expertise with Python, API development, LLM experience and familiarity with SQL databases and cloud technology.
You’ll be a member of a global team working on generative AI initiatives, based in our Lisbon, Prague, São Paulo or San José offices. Our McKinsey’s Tech Ecosystem function is responsible for developing and delivering all technology solutions for the firm’s internal use. You will work in a product team with engineers, designers and product managers doing application development with an with the purpose delivering impactful AI solutions leveraging the best of the data within the firm.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Lilli team, you will be at the forefront of our firm's generative AI initiatives. Your role will involve writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining application code using Python, React and NextJS. You will leverage industry leading LLMs to drive data retrieval and synthesis.
Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and resolving technical issues and challenges. This involves keeping up to date with the fast-moving technology of generative AI and leveraging the best of the industry to keep Lilli at the leading edge of generative AI products. You will be pivotal in driving innovation within our firm, delivering impactful AI solutions, and collaborating with a distributed team across North America, Europe, and Latin America.

Your Growth

You’ll work with the Lilli team focused on our leading internal AI tool. Our team is distributed across multiple locations, including offices in North America, Europe, and Latin America.
The Lilli team is dedicated to advancing the capabilities and applications of data retrieval and Generative AI within our firm, driving innovation, and delivering impactful AI solutions.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Software Engineer with preferably 5+ years of experience
  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • Expertise in React and NextJS
  • Expertise with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL or cloud equivalent such as Amazon RDS
  • Experience utilizing LLMs and prompt engineering
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline setup and management
  • Familiarity in using AWS cloud platform for deploying and managing applications, particularly AWS ECS
  • Familiarity with GitHub for version control and code collaboration
  • Knowledge of containerization
  • Strong conceptual problem-solving
  • Ownership mindset
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
