Your Impact

You will help manage benefit plan operations for Partners and colleagues globally through a broad range of activities, including program design, strategy, analysis, communication, member support, training, and administration. This includes evaluation and recommendations for existing and new programs, building and managing relationships with benefit vendors, recognizing recurrent program concerns, maintaining plan documents, and reengineering of processes.
You will also work with Global Benefits function leaders to review and shape analysis of data on standard and Partner global programs, provide guidance on how to best maintain, use and store information in formats that are easily accessible, usable and understandable.
You will collaborate with function leaders and office personnel in ongoing reviews of global health and welfare plan alternatives. You’ll provide analysis and assistance with strategy and design to address Firm policy compliance and tax efficiency, and conduct due diligence on new offices and acquisitions.
You will maintain awareness of proposed legislation and regulations and assist with analyzing the potential effects to the Firm as well as operational and administrative changes to benefit plans and supporting documents.
Responsibilities also include serving as the main contact for escalated issues within the benefit program(s) you manage, providing guidance to other firm functions/offices (mobility, Partner personnel, HR, benefits representatives globally), and managing updates related to global legislative changes.
As part of the Global Benefits team, you will also serve as the project manager and/or subject matter expert on a variety of benefits initiatives (e.g., Open Enrollment, RFPs, plan implementations and/or design changes).

Your Growth

You will be part of the Global Benefits team located in Tampa, Florida, who support the design and delivery of the Firm’s benefit plans globally, including medical, dental, disability, life, accident, and retirement programs.
You will also work closely with the Global Benefits team located in New York, Atlanta, and Chicago, program vendors, and global stakeholders across the Firm, including senior colleagues in other functions and offices throughout all McKinsey offices worldwide.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree preferred)
  • 4+ years of benefit plan administration experience including knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, HIPAA, ERISA, ACA, and COBRA
  • Superb analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Intellectual curiosity, resourceful, ability to learn new concepts
  • Personal initiative with the ability to identify gaps and develop solutions
  • Ability to independently manage global programs, lead projects, and connect with broader stakeholders when appropriate
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including high proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
