- Bachelor's or graduate degree with focus or specialization in data analytics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, social science research, operations research, econometrics, or similar field
- 1+ years of relevant professional experience in analytics demonstrating success as an individual contributor within a broader team
- Solid analytical and data management skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple projects, and to work effectively under pressure and with shifting priorities
- Flexibility in working style, eager to collaborate with a team (often virtually) and to engage in independent work, based on project and other circumstances
- Ability to understand and communicate the meaning of analyses with individuals in a wide range of strategic and operational roles, in both written and oral form
- Technical and analytic experience including experience with analytical tools and software such as R (preferred), Python, Tableau, Alteryx, or other programming experience
- Proficiency in SQL, including experience retrieving data from relational databases
- Exploratory data analysis to understand the characteristics of a data set and identify patterns
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, including manipulating large datasets
- Intuitive understanding of what the analysis implies and how it would be affected by changes in assumptions
- Comfort with dealing with ambiguity, making assumptions, and drawing conclusions
- Substantial technical experience working with real-world data, including extracting it from production databases like Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake and cleaning it to create analytically tractable data sets
- Familiarity with software development methodologies like Agile, including issue/workflow tracking tools like Jira and Trello and version control tools like git and GitHub
- Familiarity with visualizing data using ggplot2, matplotlib, d3.js, Tableau, or similar software

Factors like your office location, your unique blend of experience and skills, start date and our current organizational needs all play a part in determining the final figure. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to McKinsey's discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance.
