Your Impact
You will be responsible for a variety of activities related to general accounting process. As an active member of general accounting team you will ensure timely support to office on various accounting processing and recording, preparation of transaction for the office to record & support, collaborate on seamless accounting operations.
In this role, you will regularly analyze the general accounting transactions, reconciliations and schedules. You will identify improvement areas and recommend new ideas to enhance the efficiency of the overall process, with the aim of increasing customer satisfaction.
You’ll participate in day to day general accounting, processing accounting records, and ensure that business process documentations (Standard Operating Procedures) are updated regularly and adhered by all team members.
You will be an effective team player, working alongside other teams to achieve the common goals of the firm.
Your Growth
You will collaborate with various global offices to support US GAAP accounting, playing a key role in month-end closing for global entities. Your responsibilities will include day-to-day accounting, preparing schedules for critical accounts, and validating the accuracy of transactions in compliance with GAAP.
You will primarily focus on preparing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and accountability. For items outstanding for more than 90 days, you will draft detailed action plans and maintain proper documentation to facilitate resolution and closure.
This role requires expertise in financial accounting and financial analysis, as well as strong attention to detail to ensure the integrity of financial operations and adherence to US GAAP standards.
You will work closely with local offices globally, participating in monthly governance calls, representing and reporting on reconciliations, and fostering collaboration to provide a true and fair view of financial statements. You will also ensure that balance sheet accounts are reconciled effectively, minimizing disruptions during month-end reporting.
You will support ad hoc requests by understanding the end-to-end accounting flow of various service lines such as P2P, O2C, and R2R. You will analyze processes, identify opportunities for automation, drive simplification, and act as a thought partner to McKinsey offices to resolve challenges.
Your qualifications and skills
- Completed B.Com (Hons), CMA, CA Inter, or MBA qualifications.
- 1+ years of work experience in general accounting, preferably within a multi-national shared service setup.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office, and accounting concepts to effectively perform role responsibilities.
