Your Impact

As a Communications Specialist, you will be based in Singapore as part of the Firm’s Reach and Engagement function in Asia. This team helps ensure that appropriate insights reach designated audiences, building awareness and engagement with McKinsey’s distinctive knowledge on a variety of topics.
The team shapes the way the Firm connects with people—from clients to employees to alumni—strengthening institutional relationships, connections, and affiliations.
Your role will involve collaborating with seasoned communications professionals to support content delivery via a regional omni-channel communications platform, as well as facilitate events, publications and regional programs.
You will join McKinsey’s AsiaX Reach and Engagement team in Singapore. The role of Specialist is integral to the team’s efforts to shape and manage McKinsey’s reputation and communications strategy across Asia excl. Greater China. Reporting to the AsiaX R&E Director, you will work closely with Managers, Specialists and Coordinators across the function, as well as Firm consultants.
You will leverage a range of skills such as: communication skills (e.g., writing, editing, storytelling) across formats; stakeholder management; organizational and project management skills; the ability to execute with speed, high level of accuracy and efficiency, attention to detail, and follow-through; and skill in at reconciling conflicting priorities and coordinating different efforts to elevate the Firm’s communications, showcase the Firm’s knowledge and assets, and protect the Firm’s reputation.
In terms of creating effective communications you will:
  • Drive high-quality writing and editing by enabling teams to develop clear, structured and engaging written communications that rigorously follow conventions of written English
  • Support the planning and coordination of external/internal Firm events (e.g., conferences, forums, webinars, roundtables) and communications around events, ensuring alignment with the Firm’s strategic goals and aligning with Firm leadership when necessary
  • Anticipate, identify and respond to reputation risk issues to protect and enhance McKinsey's reputation by reviewing materials and proactively shaping narrative
  • Conduct strategic assessments to support execution and prioritization of communication campaigns and events (e.g., competitor insights, event speaker research), and collate into digestible format for leadership
  • Establish high-quality and consistent branding (i.e., Firm's signature voice, visuals, and narrative) across communications platforms and channels in support of relevant brand pivots
  • Help radiate priorities and important topics across existing channels, and ensure appropriate positioning with key stakeholders
  • Execute reputation-building programs through a mix of publishing activities (e.g., publishing that aligns both global initiatives and regional priorities, monitoring of media relations and public relations, targeted knowledge dissemination)
  • Establish data tracking processes and develop comprehensive metrics dashboard for publishing activities and client activations, to assess the effectiveness of communications and suggest improvements
  • Support the team in delivering the Regional Leader’s executive program and priorities, including executive presence
  • Identify and manage appropriate partnerships with internal or external stakeholders
  • Advise and counsel partners in developing networking programs to strengthen relationships with clients, potential clients and media

  • 12 months, starting in October 2025

Your qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s/university degree required
  • 8+ years in a business communications-related field, in a professional services environment, corporate communications role, government, or communications agency background
  • Experience developing complex integrated communications programs
  • Excellent organization capabilities, including the ability to initiate tasks independently and see them through to completion
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English with the ability to adjust your style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels
  • Proficient in rational decision making based on data, facts, and logical reasoning
  • Ability to create work product-focused materials / outputs, which may include PowerPoint decks, Excel models, articles, or other written deliverables
  • Exceptional time management to meet your responsibilities in a complex and largely autonomous work environment
