As an , you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the security architecture for artificial intelligence and machine learning systems within Pearson. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data, algorithms, models, and infrastructure used in AI solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and IT professionals, Software developers, Product Owners, Business partners to integrate security measures seamlessly into the AI development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain Pearson Secure AI Framework for securing Applications using AI/LLMs

  • Develop key security requirements for using LLMs, validating requirements are met and provide technical feedback to development, technology, and business teams.

  • Develop and implement security architecture and strategies for AI and ML solutions, considering potential threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Identify security requirements for AI projects and translate them into effective technical solutions.

  • Design secure data handling, processing, and storage mechanisms for AI models and datasets.

  • Design and implement security controls such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems and access control lists to protect AI systems

  • Conduct threat assessments and risk analysis for AI systems to identify potential attack vectors and vulnerabilities.

  • Create threat models and contribute to risk assessment processes, ensuring timely mitigation of security risks.

  • Design and implement security controls, such as access controls, encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms, within AI systems.

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure security measures are seamlessly integrated into the AI development process.

  • Implement security validation based on OWASP Top LLM risks, NIST and other standards, contribute to internal core group on security best practices.

  • Collaborate with Governance Risk, Enterprise Architecture, Security operations to build road map for AI security.

Skills Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in cybersecurity and/or information security roles, with a focus on securing AI and ML systems.

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and frameworks.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security features.

  • Knowledge of common security protocols, cryptography, and authentication mechanisms.

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are a plus.
