The Role
Researchers will specialize in a particular RRA Industry, Capability, or Practice and provide strategic domain expertise to Consultants and the firm overall. This person should be seen as the “go-to” for information in his/her expertise, and the keeper of relevant information and resources. This role will support the entire search lifecycle from assisting Consultants in the identification of business development opportunities through the executive search process, to the closure of an assignment.
We are currently seeking to hire an outstanding Research Associate to join our team based in our Singapore office.
The key responsibilities of a Researcher, which may vary according to the level at which they are engaged, can be summarized as follows:
Managing Search Pipeline & Process
- Formulate a compelling search strategy independently and contribute to its execution
- Consistently identify and develop “best in class,” high quality, diverse candidate slates by:
- Utilizing extensive on-line and proprietary database searches to identify high quality candidates
- Approaching and sourcing key industry players, where appropriate, to understand market dynamics, company reputation, and recommendations for top talent to develop a comprehensive market overview to help inform our clients
- Ensuring candidates are market-validated and sharing market insights gathered during a project with internal and external clients
- Assisting consultants in managing candidate and client communications throughout the search process
- Liaise with colleagues in other offices to fully leverage our global network by sharing ideas and best practices
- Collaborate with administrative support in the creation of content-rich, insight-driven client status reports
- Maintain the highest quality information on the database, including the timely and rigorous capture of insight gathered during search work.
Business Development
- Demonstrate domain expertise and insights that inform Consultants’ strategic views of the business and enhance our market position.
- Closely monitor market trends, relevant industry news and RRA network to highlight potential opportunities for Consultants to develop and strengthen existing relationships.
- Conduct background research and generate market insights to drive content for pitches and client presentations. Work closely with RRA Knowledge teams in developing insights and content.
- Attend and contribute expertise to pitches and client meetings, when appropriate.
- Work closely with Knowledge team to capture both search and non-search related information in the RRA database.
Supporting Research & Local Community
- Develop and evangelize best practices and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Promote a strong research community and serve as a culture carrier.
- Identify and introduce potential employees to the firm, both opportunistically and when there is a specific hiring need. Serve on interviewing jury as appropriate.
- Participate in on-boarding and training new research hires.
- Support, train and mentor/sponsor junior members of the team.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will bring 2+ years of business experience within a commercial or business-related role that focused on data gathering and insight analysis or from the research function of a relevant practice within a top-tier executive search firm. Relevant industry experience, whether gained in a corporate role, professional services, or through a role in executive search is required; candidates should have the ability to operate seamlessly with Consultants and clients within their relevant Industry/Capability. Given the nature of the Researcher’s role, the demonstrated ability to manage internal and external clients is paramount. Past experience working across constituencies to ensure best-in-class support is required with depth of experience in professional services ideal.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from a respected institution

- Analytical with high-level of intellectual curiosity. Able to synthesize large amounts of data and quickly identify the salient points and insights.
- Results-oriented with strong project management capabilities. Self-starter with drive and tenacity to excel.
- Highly organized and adept at multi-tasking, meeting multiple deadlines and managing several stakeholders. Forensic attention to detail.
- Relationship-builder and influencer. Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills, particularly the ability to partner with all levels of an organization.
- Excellent writing skills and ability to produce quality, well-structured documents.
- Strong proficient in MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
