Advances in embedded hardware and operating systems bring real-time 3D to pixels on every screen. Unity is at the forefront with our scalable, performant runtime engine and Unity Editor workflow.

We are looking for a manager for the Embedded OS Platform engineering team which delivers the platform-specific foundation underlying the Unity engine. The team supports Embedded Linux (e.g. Yocto), QNX and Android solutions. The manager will be responsible for driving the highest quality standards, including maintaining our ISO 9001 certification.

This role is a combination of technical leadership and people management. The right person will help us develop and retain high quality engineering talent. What you’ll be doing

• Own and drive the technical strategy for the team
• Work closely with Product Management to develop the embedded OS platform layer which scales across various operating systems
• Collaborate with Sales, Business Development, and Solutions teams to deliver a performant platform which meet customer requirements
• Support the members of your engineering team as they advance in their career goals
• Communicate your team’s vision and progress internally and externally
• This role will include interaction with customer and partner engineering teams

What we’re looking for

• Experience coaching and managing an effective software engineering team
• Past experience with Embedded solutions, platforms and operating systems
• Working familiarity with C++ and Linux

You might also have

• Prior experience with Real-Time 3D projects, or games
• Expertise leading using Agile development methodologies
• Experience collaborating with distributed teams around the world
• Experience working with Yocto build environments
